Begin Spiritual Journey

To take the first step forward on your spiritual journey, it requires asking God for forgiveness and to come into your heart and be the Master of your life. It requires denouncing your past sins and the decision that you will no longer continue to sin in the God’s eyes. It’s not a labour intensive process. It’s very simple actually. It’s a decision, a simple prayer, and then a keeping of your promise.

When you have made the decision that you are willing to accept the terms, say this simple prayer:

“Dear Lord Jesus, I have come to the realization that I am a sinner and I no longer want to continue living my life as I used to. I no longer want to be without you in my life. I believe that you died on the cross for my sins. Please forgive me. Today, I turn away from my past sins and I open the door of my heart and my life to you forever. From this moment and moving forward I will confess that you are my personal Lord and Savior. I surrender my entire life to you, and I will follow only you for the rest of my life. Thank You, Lord, for saving me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

And now you’re off to the races. So, you’re probably wondering where do you go from here??

The first step is to purchase or find a Bible. There are so many different versions of the Bible, you’re probably going to ask yourself which one you should choose. My recommendation is to start with the King James Version, but you can use any Bible of your choosing.

What I do is read 3 chapters from the Old Testament, 3 chapters from the New Testament, 3 chapters from Psalms, and 3 chapters from Proverbs daily. That should give you a good start in getting to know the Lord and help you to start building a relationship.
